For telecom networks the most modern solution is so called open cabeling, where Cat5, Cat5e or Cat 6 cables are used. With such a technology typical working place will then have 2XRJ45 connection, which, depending on the plans of a network service provider, enables to create:
1 computer + 1 telephone connection
2 computer connections
2 telephone connections
